FDL Man in Custody After High Speed Chase

A 19-year-old Fond du Lac man is in custody on charges of
eluding an officer after a high speed chase that happened in the early morning
hours Saturday. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the vehicle
around 2:20 AM Saturday, after it had recently been involved in a pursuit with
another law enforcement agency. The deputy attempted a traffic stop on the
vehicle at Scott Street and Peters Avenue in the City of Fond du Lac, but the
driver did not pull over. The pursuit continued just over three miles, reaching
speeds of 87 miles per hour, before coming to an end on Pioneer Road near
Melody Lane. The 19-year-old man was cited for operating while intoxicated,
operating with a suspended license, suspended registration and failure to stop
at a stop sign. A 20-year-old man from Fond du Lac was the passenger in the car
– he was cited for underage drinking and released. The North Fond du Lac Police
Department and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in the pursuit.
