FDL Man Sentenced For Fatal Traffic Crash

The 21-year-old Fond du Lac man who drove off the road near the South Hills Country Club and hit a tree killing one teenager passenger and injuring another has been sentenced. Fond du Lac County Judge Richard Nuss sentenced Gilberto Castaneda-Bobadilla to three years in prison and five years of extended supervision. He will also be placed on probation for six years after his prison sentence is complete. Castaneda-Bobadilla was convicted of homicide by negligent use of a vehicle and injury by use of vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. The accident occurred on November 16th of 2012.  Giovanni Clouse of Campbellsport was killed and Alex Schultz of Dotyville was injured. The three friends were returning from a concert in Madison early that morning. A state crime lab test found the presence of marijuana in Castaneda-Bobadilla’s blood.
