FDL Man Sentenced On Arson And Drug Trafficking Charges

The 29-year-old Fond du Lac man who set fire to his foreclosed home last April has been sentenced to 17 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision. Fond du Lac County Judge Robert Wirtz sentenced Colin Habram Wednesday on arson, drug trafficking and animal mistreatment charges for the fire at 410 Ellis Street last April 14th. District Attorney Eric Toney says, “Arsons are serious violent crimes which endanger the lives of anyone present in and around the building and endanger the lives of the fire fighters working to extinguish the fire. I commend Detective Lee Mikulec, City of Fond du Lac Police Department, the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and Assistant District Attorney Robert Dean for conducting a thorough investigation which resulted in these convictions as well as the City of Fond du Lac Fire Department from preventing further damage or injury. The defendant attempting to burn down his residence was aggravated because he had been using the residence as a drug house and the arson killed his dog.” According to the criminal complaint Habram was depressed, out of work, and hooked on heroin when he started the blaze.
