FDL Police Investigating Multiple Thefts, Not Sure If They Are Related

Multiple thefts occurring late Thursday night into Friday morning have local police investigating, and right now they are not sure if they are tied together.

FDL Police were first called Friday morning just before 8:45 a.m., to the 300 block of E. 2nd St., where a 57-year old female reported her vehicle was broken into during the night, and items had been removed. She did tell police her vehicle was locked at the time. The victim did report seeing a 20-something year old male in the area, around 9 p.m. Thursday night, talking to someone on his cell phone, and looking at various cars and driveways. He was then picked up by another person in a vehicle, but there’s no way of knowing at this point if those two people are connected to the incident.

A second theft call was received Friday morning at 9:10 a.m., to the 300 block of W. 11th St, for a report of a house being broken into. Once on the scene, Police were told by a 26-year old male, that the back door and back gate on the property were open, and two guns were removed from a gun cabinet.

Police do not have any suspects in either of the thefts, and are asking if anyone saw anything suspicious, or has information that can assist in the investigations, that they contact the FDL Police Department.
