FDL Police Investigating Two Hit-and-Run Crashes from the Weekend

Fond du Lac Police are investigating a pair of
hit-and-run crashes involving bicyclists from over the weekend.

Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein tells us the first
hit-and-run happened around 12:44 am Saturday near the intersection of West
Scott Street and North Hickory Street.

Officers were called to the scene after a woman that was
riding her bike east on Scott Street was hit from behind by an eastbound pickup
truck. The impact knocked the woman to the ground, and the truck continued east
on Scott Street without stopping. The victim described the truck as having LED
headlights and a loud exhaust. A witness told police they believed the truck
was dark in color and had a metal tool box on the back. Officers found pieces of
the right passenger-side mirror at the scene.

The victim was transported to St. Agnes Hospital for
treatment of minor injuries.

The second hit-and-run happened around 12:16 pm Saturday
at the intersection of North Main Street and Merrill Avenue. In that incident, a
16-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk along Main Street and
was crossing Merrill Avenue when he was hit by a silver or grey colored pickup
that was making a right turn from Merrill Avenue to go north on Main Street.
The driver of the truck – described as a white female with blonde hair –
reportedly pulled over into a nearby parking lot, but then drove away without
making contact with the victim. The 16-year-old received minor injuries and was
not taken to the hospital.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to
call the Crime Alert number at 920-322-3740.
