FDL Police Make Progress In Suspicious Incident Investigation

Fond du Lac Police have learned more about an incident involving an 11-year-old girl who was walking home from school last Wednesday when she was approached by a man she didn’t know. It turns out a man who was a person of interest in the case wasn’t involved. Police released a photo of a man taken at a Kwik Trip Store near where the incident occurred. That man came forward. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the man was actually on his way to work at the time. The man said he didn’t have contact with the girl and police verified the information and have ruled him out. Thanks to tips police did find the man who approached the girl. Klein says the 50-year-old man said he had some small talk with the girl. He was walking home and talked with the girl, but denies having any physical contact with the girl. The investigation into the incident in the area of South Main and 15th Street continues. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact School Resource Officer Steve Olson at 906-6734 or the Crime Alert at 322-3740.
