FDL Public Library’s Burgess Receives Financial Literacy Award

Lori Burgess, Support Services coordinator at the Fond du Lac Public Library, received the 2012 Wisconsin Financial Literacy Award from Governor Scott Walker in a March 1st ceremony in Madison.  Burgess was one of 21 who received the award given by the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy. Since 2007, Burgess has been instrumental in bringing Money Smart Week to Fond du Lac and promoting the program to libraries throughout Wisconsin and the country. One of her presentations led to the first national partnership between the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Burgess’ passion and enthusiasm have helped make the Fond du Lac Public Library a national leader in this area. Burgess, of Taycheedah, has worked for 8 years at the Fond du Lac Library.
