FDL Regional Clinic In Waupun Welcomes New Womens Health Nurse Practitioner

Agnesian HealthCare’s Fond du Lac Regional Clinic is pleased to welcome Amanda Hiemstra, APNP, as its new women’s health nurse practitioner at 608 W. Brown Street in Waupun. She works with Scott Hansfield, MD, a Fond du Lac Regional Clinic board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist.

As a women’s health nurse practitioner, Hiemstra offers diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive healthcare services to women.

A graduate of Marian University, Hiemstra earned her doctoral degree in Nursing Practice from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

“It’s my goal to always provide the best possible care for every patient that I see,” says Hiemstra. “In that process, I take a holistic approach looking at all aspects of each patient.”

A nurse practitioner obtains medical histories and performs physical examinations; provides immunizations and other preventive care; diagnoses and treats illnesses; addresses issues specific to women such as breast health concerns, prenatal care, menstrual disorders; orders and interprets diagnostic tests, such as blood work, ultrasound and mammography; and prescribes therapy services.

“Prevention is essential, and I appreciate working collaboratively with those individuals I serve to offer preventive care and annual exams,” says Hiemstra. “I’m excited to be in this new position and be challenged in all I do.”

Hiemstra and her husband live in Brandon and have four children. In her free time, Hiemstra enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and watching sports.
