FDL Restaurant Reopens After Deep Cleaning

The Mazatlan Restaurant on South Main Street in Fond du Lac has reopened after what Fond du Lac Public Health Officer Kim Mueller calls a “deep cleaning.” The restaurant voluntarily shut down on July 11th after dead cockroaches were found during an inspection. Owner Victor Cortez says they cleaned the restaurant from top to bottom. He says they did some repainting, cleaned the restaurant all over so it looks like new, and got some new equipment.  He says they will also be installing new carpeting in the next two weeks. The restaurant has been a popular spot since its opening 23 years ago. Mueller says even though they didn’t have to their inspection department did take a look at the restaurant’s progress. She says the restaurant looks immaculate and they did a very, very good job. She says Cortez wanted to do the right thing. The restaurant reopened late Wednesday morning.
