FDL Salvation Army Makes Red Kettle Goal

The Fond du Lac Salvation Army surpassed their $150,000 Red Kettle Campaign fundraising goal during the holiday season with a little room to spare. Captains Steve and Telinda Wilson Wednesday announced they actually collected $155,000 in donations. Steve says they got down to the wire a little bit, but the community came through. Telinda says money raised from the Kettle campaign supports a number of services they provide to the community throughout the year. Steve Wilson said they did get a little nervous when they got down to the last three days of the campaign and had $50,000 to go, but Christmas Eve Day made a real difference. He says they had a match day and the West Shore group came in with $10,000 and the community raised $13,000 so they collected $23,000 in donations that one day. The KFIZ/K107 The Bull Bucket Brigade in early December raised about $15,000 with an $8,000 match provided by the Michels Corporation.
