FDL Says No More

03-Dec-2017

Have you seen teal blue tables at area businesses, the Farmers Market or the Fond du Lac Public Library? These are part of Project TableTalk and FDL Says No More. There are nearly 30 tables currently placed around Fond du Lac which contain information on how to promote conversations on healthy relationships and a listing of resources for people who are seeking help or want to learn more. The Fond du Lac Area Women's Fund initiated the project and Fond du Lac Morning Rotary was able to support the project through a $3000 grant. The grant was funded by Fond du Lac Morning Rotary and Rotary International District 6270. In addition, Rotarians hosted a Farmers Market booth promoting Project TableTalk and volunteered to assemble, paint and deliver 24 tables.

Bethany Rusch, Fond du Lac Morning Rotarian, stated "I am thrilled that Fond du Lac Morning Rotary supported the Project TableTalk initiative of the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund – a partnership between two organizations I care for deeply. Rotary has a commitment to building stronger communities and this project highlights the importance of creating a safe community by preventing violence against women and children in Fond du Lac. The goal of Project TableTalk is to get people talking about building healthy relationships, as well as what to do if they or someone they know needs to get or give help due to the impact of violence in their lives. As a community, we must raise awareness and have these conversations in order to prevent abuse and sexual assault. And Rotary put themselves right at the heart of this important work."

Next time you see a teal blue table, stop and learn more. Pick up the materials on the table to get started and for more information go to FDLSaysNoMore.org/StartTalking
