FDL School Board Increases Financial Support For Career Construction Academy

The Fond du Lac School Board Monday night approved putting additional monies into the building of a career construction academy at the high school. The board had previously committed $500,000 to the effort, but has now agreed to commit up to $750,000. The district needed to raise $1.1 million toward the project and was about $215,000 shy of that. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says it is a good use of fund balance. A groundbreaking is targeted for March 1st and construction should be completed by November of 2018. Sebert says it is an exciting project. Spending for the project did not have to go to a referendum question because it involves a combination of district funds and community donations.
