FDL School District Budget

The Fond du Lac School Board held a public hearing for the school district’s 2017-18 budget Monday night. For the second year in a row property taxpayers will be seeing a break on their school mill rate. The preliminary tax rate is 32 cents lower than the previous school year, coming in at $8.95. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says that is primarily due to the additional $1.4 million in state aid the district will be receiving. He notes taxpayers may get an even bigger break on their taxes depending on how much property values increase. The School Board will give its final approval to the budget and tax levy next month.
