FDL School District Continues Working Toward Start of Referendum Projects

The Fond du Lac School District continues to work through the initial steps before construction begins on $98.5 million in improvements to district schools that passed in the April election. Superintendent Jim Sebert says School Board members have been holding regular meetings with Bray Architects and C.D. Smith Construction, and recently began walking tours to look at schools that are on the list for improvements firsthand. “We’ve got those plans that were approved by the public – and we costed the square footage and all of that stuff, and now it’s a matter of getting inside and saying, by room – ‘are we replacing that door?’, ‘are we replacing those fixtures?’ – and really getting specific in terms of how we’re going to move forward,” Sebert said. District officials toured Waters and Pier Elementary Schools last week and will tour Theisen Middle School and Chegwin Elementary School in two weeks. The first phase of construction begins in May of 2020.
