FDL School District Students And Staff Well Prepared

Kids in the Fond du Lac School District went through a series of drills the first week of school and passed with flying colors. It had nothing to do with how well prepared they were in reading, writing and arithmetic, but rather in emergency situations. They did fire, lock down, and emergency evacuation drills. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says the district works with experts to make sure they are prepared for situations no matter what the emergency might be. Some of the experts they work with are in law enforcement and emergency management. He was really impressed with how serious their principals, teachers, support staff and kids took those drills. Sebert says their Coordinator of Facility Services John Williams and Coordinator of School Health and Safety Programs Marian Sheridan make up part of a great team they make sure everyone is well prepared. This month is National Preparedness Month.
