FDL School District Taxes Will Decrease

Fond du Lac School District taxpayers will be getting more of a break on their taxes then first thought. Property values in the district increased by a little over 2.9 percent this fall. That means the mill rate will be decreasing even further than first estimated. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says the current estimate is about $8.70 per thousand dollars of value on a home or a decrease from the past year of about $57 on a $100,000 home. State aid and the private school voucher aid deduction figures won’t be final until October 15th, which could impact the tax rate. The school board will vote to approve the District Budget and Tax Levy at their October 23rd meeting.
