FDL Sheriff’s Deputies Make Six OWI Arrests

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies on third shift made
six OWI arrests overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. Four of the six arrests
made were of first-time offenders, while the other two arrests were of
second-time offenders. Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says it is an unusually
high number of OWI arrests on one shift and it should serve as a reminder “that
deputies are watching for drunk drivers year-round, not just during highway
safety task force deployments or during national campaigns that focus on drunk
driving prevention around the holidays”. Waldschmidt adds “If you choose to
drive drunk, know that we are working around the clock to find you, arrest you
and keep our highways safe”.
