FDL Small Metro Ranking Improves Dramatically

The Milken Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank, just released Best-Performing Cities 2014 and the Fond du Lac metro ranked 26th out of 179 small city metros in America. This is a tremendous gain from 2013 when Fond du Lac ranked 65th. The Fond du Lac metro ranked 94th in 2012. Additionally, the Fond du Lac metro ranked 19th out of 179 for job growth, 26th for wage growth, 14th for high-tech gross domestic product (GDP), and 7th for the presence of high-tech industries. The data is available at www.milkeninstiture.org and www.best-cities.org  “This is a good indicator that the Fond du Lac County economy is expanding coming out of the Great Recession,” noted Steve Jenkins, president of the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation.
