Stabbing Victim Charged

A 35-year-old Fond du Lac man who was stabbed in the chest with a steak knife during an incident at the Maplewood Common Apartments Tuesday morning has been charged for the incident. Omar Simpson was released on a $500 signature bond after he was charged with battery and disorderly conduct in Fond du Lac County Court Wednesday. Both charges are misdemeanors. Simpson was stabbed by his 29-year-old live-in girlfriend during a domestic incident. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then arrested. He will be back in court on February 3rd. No additional arrests are anticipated.

Fond du Lac Police are investigating a domestic disturbance that occurred at an apartment at the Maplewood Commons Tuesday morning at about 8:56 a.m. A 35-year old Fond du Lac man allegedly was involved in a physical confrontation with his 29-year-old live-in girlfriend. During the course of the altercation, the female victim was able to grab a kitchen steak knife and allegedly stabbed the man in the upper chest. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then transported to the Fond du Lac County jail on charges of Domestic Battery, Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s office but at this point it is not anticipated that additional arrests will be made.
