FDL “Warrior Summit” to be Held October 18th

Marian University’s Stayer Center will host the Fond du
Lac Warrior Summit in two weeks. The summit is part of CSI of Fond du Lac’s “Destination
Zero” suicide prevention initiative – and is focused on “improving the emotional
and spiritual well-being of Veterans, current service members and their
families,” according to the event’s website. Among the groups targeted by the
summit are clinical professionals, social service organizations, faith communities
and the general public – to learn more about veterans and their families, in
addition to the different resources available to support them.

Tami Kohlmann is the coordinator of Destination Zero and
she tells us it is a full day of events for people to learn from. “We have the
two keynotes in the morning and then in the afternoon, we are going to have two
breakout sessions and there’s four options to choose from in each of those
sessions,” Kohlmann said. She adds that a lot of effort has been put into
scheduling presentations that “would be interesting to a wide variety of
audiences.” The program runs from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm on Friday, October 18th.
The cost $25 for general admission, while veterans and active duty service
members are free. All attendees are asked to register online at this link. The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 8th.
