Federal Grand Jury Indicts Oshkosh Man for Fentanyl-Related Deaths

An Oshkosh man is indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly distributing fentanyl – which led to the deaths of two people. Federal prosecutors say 39-year old Desmond Burns distributed the fentanyl, which was used by an Appleton woman who died in May 2017 and a New London man who overdosed in June 2017.

Police say drug dealers may dilute their heroin with fentanyl, which is 50 times more potent than heroin – making it easier to accidentally overdose. If convicted, Burns faces between 20 years and life in prison.
