Federal Judge Dismisses FDL Womans Civil Rights Claims

A federal judge in Milwaukee this week dismissed the claims of a Fond du Lac woman who was held in the Fond du Lac County Jail for two weeks without a hearing in the disappearance of her brother-in-law. Tina Ewell and her sister Eve Nance were arrested in October of 2013 in connection with the disappearance of Timothy Nance. Ewell was later released when Nance was charged for her husband’s shooting death. Ewell filed a federal lawsuit claiming her constitutional rights were violated. The suit named Sheriff Mick Fink, District Attorney Eric Toney, Deputy District Attorney Dennis Krueger, and Fond du Lac Police Detectives Matt Bobo and Bill Ledger. Ewell immediately filed an appeal with the Federal Appeals Court in Chicago following the federal judge’s decision. Nance’s jury trial begins on January 19th.
