FEMA Set to Assess Storm-Damaged Areas This Week

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management is expecting FEMA to arrive either Tuesday or Wednesday as the federal agency begins preliminary damage assessments around Wisconsin this week. Personnel conducting the assessments will have proper identification as they tour areas damaged by storms. The preliminary assessments will be conducted on the exterior of the homes and will not include all homes that sustained damage – but surveying the areas will give FEMA information to determine what, if any, assistance Fond du Lac County may qualify for. The public will be informed when those decisions are made – and what the next steps will be.
