Feyen Commends UWO Chancellor Leavitt For Handling Of Scandal

State Senator Dan Feyen commends UW Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt for the way he has handled news that two former UW-Oshkosh officials mishandled funds at the school. He says Leavitt did everything he should after finding out that former Chancellor Richard Wells and Chief Business Officer Tom Sonnleiter mismanaging $11.3 million in funds. He says Leavitt took action right away to figure out what happened and got authorities involved. He says one UW-Oshkosh employee was terminated and another was placed on administrative leave while the investigation was waged. Feyen says anyone connected with the funneling of the funds into the UW-Oshkosh Foundation for five building projects has been dealt with. The UW System regents filed a civil lawsuit against Wells and Sonnleiter last Wednesday.
