FHS Students Receive Center Stage Awards

The Fond du Lac High
School (FHS) production of the musical “Curtains” was recognized by
the Fox Communities Performing Arts Center during their Center Stage Awards
Showcase. The school’s production of “Curtains” won
two awards – Outstanding Overall Production and FHS student Jaeden Schmidt
received a Rising Star Award for his role as Christopher Belling in the
musical.

“Our entire cast, crew and orchestra are thrilled to be a part of the
Center Stage Music Theater Program through the Fox
Cities Performing
Arts Center,”
said Cory Schneider, the Choir Director at Fond du Lac High School.
“To be recognized by theatrical professionals on a regional level is very
rewarding and humbling.” The Outstanding Overall Production award is the
highest honor given. “Our theater students put in a lot of hard work to perform at a high
level. It is indeed a huge honor to be recognized as one of the Outstanding
Overall Productions in northeast Wisconsin,”
added Schneider. “This award is something that our students, school, and
community should be very proud of.”

Throughout the 2019-20 school year, 23 local
high schools participated in the Center Stage High School Musical Theater
Program, an education initiative of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center that
celebrates and supports the achievements of high school theater programs in Northeastern Wisconsin. The community is
encouraged to celebrate the successes of local high school musical theater
programs on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 7 p.m. WFRV Local 5 will air a one-hour
special about the Center Stage Program.
