Fire At FDL Business

Fond du Lac firefighters responded to a fire at Con-way Freight in the Fox Ridge Business Park shortly before 11:30 Friday morning. Nearby construction workers had seen the fire down the road and rushed over to the building to extinguish it. When firefighters arrived the fire outside the building was out. A painting contractor had stored cardboard and painting supplies under the exterior steps, which caught fire and extended up the side of the building. The cause of the fire appeared to be accidental and is believed to be from careless use of smoking materials. Police assisted in the fire investigation and scene security.
