Fire Damages Storage Units in the Town of Friendship

A number of storage units were damaged, with five
considered a “complete loss” after a fire in the Town of Friendship Monday
night.


Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office
along with the Van Dyne Fire Department were called to the scene at the Barber
Enterprises storage units on Minnesota Avenue in the Town of Friendship just
after 11 pm Monday. First responders noticed smoke and flames coming from one
of the storage units.


A news release says around 19 storage units received some
damage as a result of the fire, with around five of those units determined to
be a “complete loss”. Investigators say the damage  to the building alone is estimated at around
$100,000. The cost of damage to property inside the damaged storage units has
yet to be determined.


The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but
is not considered suspicious in nature. No injuries were reported in the fire.
