Fire Destroys Garage In Washington County

 Fire heavily damaged a garage in Washington County’s Village of
Richfield and killed a dog early Sunday morning. Sheriff’s officials say the two
homeowner’s in the residence at 1427 Parish Drive were awakened by smoke
detectors going off. A deputy helped them and three family dogs escape the home.
Five fire departments were able to contain the blaze to the attached garage. The
cause of the fire wasn’t determined, but rags used for staining were found in
the area of the garage where the fire was started. Three vehicles iand the
garage were significantly damaged.There was some smoke damage to the attached
home. Damage was estimated at $100,000.
