Fitchburg Man Charged For Shooting At Beaver Dam Fleet Farm Store

The 17-year-old Fitchburg man who allegedly
shot an assistant manager at the Beaver Dam Fleet Farm Store has been charged.
Bond was set at $250,000 when Jared Spencer made his initial appearance in Dodge
County Court Friday on charges stemming from the incident at the store Wednesday
evening. The assistant manager and a store security employee confronted Spencer
in the parking lot of the store about ammunition he stole. Spencer fired a handgun
once striking the 31-year-old assistant manager in the left wrist and shoulder.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. Spencer left the store in a
vehiclel, but was stopped on Highway 151 near Columbus. A preliminary hearing is
scheduled for Thursday.
