Five Hurt In Town Of Lamartine Accident

Five people were hurt in a two-car crash on Highway 23 at Fisher Road late Sunday morning in the Town of Lamartine. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Sergeant Paul Rottscholl says the accident was reported at 11:44 a.m. Evidence at the scene indicates that a westbound vehicle driven by an 84-year-old Beaver Dam man rear ended a westbound vehicle that was stopped and waiting to turn into a driveway. The impact caused the stopped vehicle to enter the ditch and strike a driveway embankment. The Beaver Dam man, Charles Burt, was treated for a hand injury and released at the scene. The 4 occupants of the 2nd vehicle, the driver, 42 year-old Rebecca Jahns from Fond du Lac, her 43-year-old husband and their 2 children both age 6 were transported to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Rottscholl says the adults in the accident were wearing seatbelts and the children were properly restrained in their parent’s vehicle. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Lamartine First Responders and Fire Department and 2 ambulances from the North Fond du Lac Fire Department
