Flood Update – Ice Jams Cleared, Flooding Still a Concern around City & County

The Flood Warning that was issued for central Fond du Lac
due to an ice jam has been allowed to expire, but the concerns over high water
aren’t over. Fond du Lac Public Works and Utility Crews were able to successfully
remove ice jams that had backed up water at the Western Avenue and Second
Street Bridges, but numerous roads around town remain flooded. Many roads in
the county are also covered with water. Law enforcement and emergency
management officials are stressing to stay off of flooded roads and find an
alternate route if you do come across high water. Anyone impacted by today’s flooding
can call 2-1-1 for information. For a life-threatening situation, call 9-1-1.
