Flood Warning In Effect, Numerous Roads Remain Closed.

A Flood Warning has been issued for the entire listening area. The National Weather Service says the warning is in effect until early Saturday morning, when the flooding situation will be assessed again. Widespread road flooding was occurring throughout southern Wisconsin due to the combination of recent snow melt, rainfall, frozen ground and ice jams.

Numerous roads remain closed around the city. Johnson Street is closed because of flooding near downtown, and drivers looking to use Highway 23 will need to take I-41/US 151 to get around the closure.

Fond du Lac Schools, St. Mary’s Springs Academy and Winnebago Lutheran Academy are all closed today. The Fond du Lac YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and the Aquatic Center are all closed.

Emergency Management officials remind you – “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” – when you see flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
