Fond du Lac Avenue And County V Projects Detailed

The City and County of Fond du Lac will be teaming up for some improvements involving County Highway V in the City over the next few years. Fond du Lac Public Works Director Jordan Skiff outlined some of those improvements for the City Council this week. Skiff says next year the City will reconstruct Fond du Lac Avenue north of the National Avenue intersection . The City got money from the state when it took over jurisdiction of Highway 45 or Fond du Lac Avenue and will be using some of that money for improvements. Skiff says there will be a round about put in at the National Avenue/Rienzi Road/Fond du Lac Avenue intersection by the County in 2020. The City will share the costs of those improvements. He says they are proposing the City pay half of the project costs.  The City will also participate in improvements on County Highway V from Fond du Lac Avenue to Pioneer Road in 2019. Skiff says the City will pay about half of those costs because they want to put in sidewalks, pedestrian and bike paths, lighting and a storm sewer to improve drainage. He says a roundabout at Pioneer Road and County Highway V will also improve traffic around Theisen Middle School.
