Fond du Lac Police Respond to Fondy High

26-Mar-2013

The Fond du Lac Police Department responded to Fond du Lac High School on Tuesday afternoon at 2:52 p.m. for a report of a student possibly having a weapon on campus.   Fond du Lac Police Department Assistant Chief Steve Klein says that there were rumors circulating about a possible weapon circulating through the school and social media. Upon investigation, the information of a student having a weapon on campus was determined to be not credible. Based upon the preliminary information of a possible subject with a gun at the school, all available City police units responded to the school and were on the scene until it was determined there was no credible threat.  Klein says that they were able to locate the individual in question. After talking to the individual they determined that there was no credible threat.  The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional details will be released when they become available.

Apparently this is no concern for a lockdown at the school! I think it should have warranted a lockdown! There was no way a thorough search was done since we drove to the school at 3:10 and the police where already leaving, if they where called at 2:53 how could they search that school so fast? I guess they had a fire drill this morning, what didn't they want to disrupt the kids again this time to a more serious threat then fire. When do they start getting more serious about lockdowns and do them instead of practicing them? Get real Fond du Lac police, things like this do happen a lot lately in the u.s.!

sounds like you know more than the police on how to conduct an investigation into this type of incident.

I agree completely, the "I'm sure it's not real" mentality is the perfect recipe for disaster! If there was ever a time to put into action the drills they've practiced, I'd say this it the time.

Poor call Fondy. I am shocked that the security of students and staff did not come first,
