Former Mayville Teacher Pleads To Having Sex With Student

The former Mayville High School Spanish teacher suspected of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student has pled guilty to one count of sexual assault of a student by a school staff member. Forty-four-year-old Shannon Cardinal of Oakfield was in Fond du Lac County Court Friday for a plea hearing. Eleven other charges against her including five more counts of the same charge and six counts of child enticement were read into the record and dismissed. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 28^th.  According to the criminal complaint Cardinal had sex with the boy at her home. She also allegedly took a trip to Iowa to have sex with the boy after his family moved there.
