Four Injured When Accident Flips On Side

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say four of five crew members were injured when an ambulance was involved in an accident on State Highway 26 at Willow Creek Road in the Town of Waupun yesterday afternoon. Sheriff’s Sergeant John Toney says the ambulance was from Meriter Health Services in Madison and was enroute to Appleton to pick up a patient when the accident happened. The ambulance failed to negotiate a curve left the road and struck a culvert overturning on its side. Three of the four injured crew members suffered non-life threatening injuries. A 32-year-old male crew member was flown to Theda Clark Hospital with life-threatening injuries. That crew member has been identified as Stanley Phillips of Madison. Two female crew members were taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac and another female crew member to Waupun Memorial Hospital.  The 62-year-old driver, Ross Fleming of Sun Prairie, wasn’t injured.
