Freiherr Runs For FDL School Board

Greg Freiherr has been a substitute teacher and worked with Fond du Lac Literacy as a volunteer, now he is running for the Fond du Lac School Board. He says learning about reading, writing and behavior is important for students. He says employers are looking for people with soft skills. Freiherr also feels the loss of teachers has to be addressed. He says improving the classroom environment could help with that. He supports the Governor’s budget proposals for a teacher development program and reform of teacher licensure. Freiherr also says you have to be smart about money. He says while he appreciates the need to keep good administrators, the nearly $27,000 tab for 28 administrators increase in pay could have paid for a seventh interpreter which is also sorely needed. The District hopes to get a grant to pay for that position. Freiherr is one of four candidates running for two seats on the Fond du Lac School Board.
