Garage Fire In FDL
Fond du Lac firefighters responded to
a report of a house fire late this morning at 614 Guinette Street.
Division Chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase says a quick-thinking visitor of
one of the neighbors extinguished the fire on the outside of a garage before
crews arrived. Haase says his quick reaction prevented the fire from spreading
and limited the damage. Fire crews worked on the scene to complete salvage and
overhaul operations. No one was at home during the blaze. Haase says the fire
wasn’t intentional. He says it was caused by spontaneous combustion from an
oil-soaked rag used for staining that was left on a combustible surface. Fond du
Lac Police assisted at the scene. The time of the fire call was 10:47
