Governor Evers Announces New Prosecutors for 56 Counties in WI

Governor Tony Evers announced Tuesday over 60 new assistant
prosecutors that will be spread across multiple counties in the state. The
State Budget funds 64 assistant district attorney positions around the state,
which were allocated based on requests made by the county District Attorneys. In
data released by the Governor’s office, Fond du Lac County and Winnebago County
are each eligible to add two new positions, Sheboygan County will add 1.5 positions,
Dodge County will add one new position and Washington County will add 1.40 new
positions. Meanwhile, Green Lake County will add a half-time position. The
additional positions mark the largest state investment in the district attorney
program in the state’s history.
