Great American Smokeout On Thursday

The tobacco control program coordinator for Fond du Lac County says there are plenty of resources out there for people who want to try and give up smoking during the Great American Smokeout on Thursday. Sandy Bernier says first you have to decide to quit. She says it is never too late to try and quit all tobacco. She says support from family and friends is important, but don’t get preachy. She says the quitter is in charge because it is their lifestyle change. She recommends checking in with them and asking them how they would like you to support them in their quit attempt. She says more information on quitting is available at the American Cancer Society website through the Tobacco Free Living Fond du Lac website or by calling the Wisconsin Quit Line at 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
