Grothman Expecting Republicans To Rally Behind Him

State Senator Glenn Grothman says a canvass of the 11-county vote for the 6th Congressional District Republican primary is further evidence that a recount isn’t needed. Grothman’s victory over State Senator Joe Leibham widened to 219 votes. He says Senator Leibham has the right to ask for a recount with less than a half a percent of the vote separating them, but history shows there wouldn’t be much of a shift in the voting with a recount. He feels Republicans will quickly rally behind his efforts despite the contested race he just went through in the primary. Grothman says his primary focus continues to be on the “out of control welfare state.” He expects a tough campaign between himself and Democrat Mark Harris, but says he feels more comfortable about the general election than he did going through the primary election.
