Grothman Hoping Federal Government Shutdown Can Be Avoided

Congressman Glenn Grothman will be voting for a continuing resolution to fund the government at its current level to avoid a Federal Government shutdown. He says it is unfortunate that some Democrats are threatening to shutdown the government unless a compromise is found for the nearly 690,000 unauthorized immigrants impacted by the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA program. He says the two things have nothing to do with each other. Grothman stresses the shutdown would not be a complete shutdown. It will take 60 votes in the Senate to pass the continuing resolution. Republicans hold the majority, but only with 51 Senators. Funding for the Federal Government runs out at midnight on Friday night.
