Grothman Supports Welfare Reform

Congressman Glenn Grothman was glad to see President Donald Trump’s recent remarks encouraging welfare reform. Grothman feels it is a conversation that needs to be had. He says the issue has been a source of friction between the House and the Senate. He feels a big fight is shaping up over welfare reform the next few weeks. The House wants to deal with welfare reform over the next year.  Grothman says welfare is destroying America’s work ethic and is very costly. There are a few things Grothman would like to see tackled when welfare reform is addressed. He says that includes the old food stamp program SNAP, low-income housing, and the earned-income tax credit. Grothman’s proposed reforms include incentivizing work, encouraging two-parent families and discouraging damaging behaviors like drug use.
