Gun Deer Hunting Season Opens Saturday Morning

The day many Wisconsin
hunters have been waiting for is just hours away. The state’s nine-day gun deer
season begins a half-hour before sunrise on Saturday – with the season running
through November 25th.

DNR officials report Wisconsin experienced a colder, snowier
winter last year – along with the late April snowstorm – but the excellent
growing season is providing plenty of food sources for deer around the state.

Hunters killed 197,733 deer during last year’s nine-day hunt. That’s 130 more
than the total in 2016.
