Gun Deer Season Starts Saturday

Fond du Lac Conservation Warden Samantha Koscher says deer numbers are looking pretty good in area deer management units for the gun-deer season. She says that’s at least according to the reports she’s gotten. She says people have had success archery hunting and those who have been scouting are also reporting seeing a lot of signs of deer in the area. She says there are a couple of regulation changes hunters should be aware of. She says deer will be registered electronically this year as they do away with the metal tag system. She says you can call 844-426-3734 or you can do it on the Internet at gamereg.wi.gov. She says there’s also a change to the youth antlerless hunt. She says only the youth who the tag was issued to can fill it. Wisconsin’s nine day gun-deer hunt starts Saturday.
