Gundrum Wins Special Election In 58th Assembly District

Washington County Board Chairman Rick Gundrum will complete Bob Gannon’s term in the state Assembly. Gundrum, a Republican candidate, defeated Democrat Dennis Degenhardt in Tuesday’s special election, collecting about 57 percent of the vote. Slightly more than 12 percent of the eligible voters in the 58th Assembly district went to the polls. Gundrum will serve until January of next year. The seat is up for election for a full term in November. Gannon died unexpectedly in October.
