Habitat Family Gets Quite The Birthday Gift
Even before they were chosen as the 25th recipients of a home built by Habitat for Humanity of Fond du Lac County, the Taylor and Sarah Schanilec family began putting in time with habitat. Sarah says she began volunteering at the ReStore after they applied and got the call on Taylor’s birthday January 6th. Taylor, who works at Taycheedah Correctional, says it was quite the birthday present to find out they’d been chose. Habitat Executive Director Paul Osterholm says Sarah and Taylor, their young son Mason and daughter Lilly will all enjoy living at 141 Hamilton Place in Fond du Lac when the home is completed next August. Sarah says someday they will share stories with Mason and Lilly how she and Taylor helped build their own home. The public is invited to the groundbreaking for the home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5th.
