Halloween Killer Case Stalled as State Appeals Continue

The future of Fond du Lac’s so-called “Halloween Killer” is stalled as a state appeals court figures out where to hold court proceedings to determine whether he will be released or committed to a mental health facility.

69-year old Gerald Turner’s mandatory release date this past February pushed the Department of Justice to file a petition to send him to a mental health facility – arguing that he is a sexually violent person and suffers from mental disorders.

Turner was convicted for the 1973 murder of 9-year old Lisa Ann French, who had been trick or treating before disappearing on Halloween.
