Head On Collision On Hwy 45 In Washington County

Washington County Sheriff’s officials believe a driver who caused a head-on collision on Highway 45 Wednesday afternoon was impaired. Several callers reported the poor driving of the northbound driver who eventually crossed over the median and struck a southbound vehicle head-on. The southbound vehicle started on fire, but a passerby quickly extinguished the flames with a fire extinguisher. The northbound driver was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend and Flight for Life flew the driver from there to Froedtert Hospital. The southbound driver was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
