Heroin Summit In Waupun Tonight

Area residents are invited to attend a Heroin Summit at the Waupun High School tonight. Similar forums have been held across the area. One was held in Fond du Lac this past winter and this is the fourth such event for Dodge County. Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg says the majority of heroin users start out on prescription drugs. He says the summit will go over prevention, drug awareness, and proper disposal of prescription drugs. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney echoes the words of Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb who said at an earlier forum there’s no way to arrest your way out of the drug problem in a community. The summit will include law enforcement officials, prosecutors, a pharmacist, medical and other experts on the problem. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the large group instruction room at Waupun High School. Klomberg says given the nature of the discussion it’s for adults only.
